Cork, Ireland

We sailed into this beautiful port this morning enjoying all the rows of houses going up the hills.

We also loved this house with the yellow door.

This town is famous for being the last port stop that the Titanic made.

Bob and Denise on their balcony watching our docking in the port.

A good picture of our ship name.

And we headed off to the church up on the hill.

More beautiful stained glass windows.

There are so many similarities and just as many differences in the churches we've seen, all beautiful.

Our selfie.

Just another view.

We went looking for a cab driver to take us out to the Jameson Irish Whiskey distillery.

The sign over the door and a big copper distillery.

The chandelier in the waiting area.

These shoes were used to keep the feet from burning during the malting process.

Our tour guide was cute and so Irish.

It was a wonderful tour and they boys were ready for the tasting.

A picture with our fabulous tour guide,

Our private tasting. Denise and I weren't impressed but they boys loved it.

Bob bottling and making the label for his own whiskey.

Signing the book.

Jim bottling his very own Irish whisky.

Jim making his label and the book.

The finished product.

We had so much fun! Especially Bob and Jim!!

We asked our cab driver, John, to come pick us back up at 2:15 and he was there right on time and drove us back into town.

In town we did some shopping in the wonderful Irish stores. Everyone was very friendly and so proud of their country, as they should be.

We got back on the ship and had something to eat and waited for the ship to leave port.

We were outside on our balcony while watching the ship preparing to leave and all of a sudden there was a small band playing songs for us. They were wonderful and played Anchors Away and many other songs. Best send-off EVER! We clapped and told them thank you as we sailed away!

A great view of the church as we passed by it.

Such cute little houses.

Farther out of the port there was this group of people watching and waving as we went by. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. It was great!

The port pilot boat.

Beautiful countryside.

A lighthouse at the end of the coast.

It was a great stop and I love Ireland!

We were so full from eating late when we got back to the ship that we weren't hungry for dinner, instead we went up to the cafe and played Farkle while I worked on the blog. We wandered around some and talked and laughed with people. It's a great ship full of great people.

That's all for now and I'm officially caught up with the blog.

Until later.

  1. Good job catching us up, Mom. I LOVE all the photos!
Sounds like y'all have had some great adventures so far - and only halfway through! At least your back in your cabin and going to base out of there; it'll be more comfortable for you.
Buen viaje as you travel north! :)
