Our first look at Iceland!

Today was a kind of lazy day. We started out with our usual breakfast and then went down to listen to a couple of speakers. The first was on Belfast, Ireland and the second on The Night Sky. The lady speaking on Belfast wasn't as well put together and sort of rambled at bit. The guy on The Night Sky was good but it got a little long. Oh well. We learned a couple of things.

We found a quiet spot to read for a bit, grabbed some lunch and went to the casino for a bit.

We were rolling up and down in the sea today. It wasn't so rough as it was just rolling seas. The swimming pool was splashing back and forth and splashing right out of the pool. Jim and Bob got some video of it. Needless to say they had to pool closed.

Dinner was at Murano, but we didn't change clothes and I felt a little under dressed but oh well.

See, I told you we didn't do much today.

After dinner we came to our room because we're getting up early to watch us pull into Akureyri, Iceland. I got back to our room and looked out the window and there was Iceland! Beautiful snow covered mountains.

This is what we saw outside our room and also the sun setting.

This is our position tonight. We're cruising around the eastern coast of Iceland.

Just a bit later a couple more pictures taken at 9:30 pm. The sunset tonight is 10:17 pm and sunrise tomorrow is 4:13 am. It probably won't even get totally dark tonight.

We're getting up at 6:00 to watch as we travel down the fjord to Akureyri. We dock at 9:00 am and we have an excursion scheduled to see a waterfall and other things. Break out the warm coats and hats and I'll report about our day tomorrow evening.

Just one more picture to show you how light it still is at 10:00 pm.

Can't wait for tomorrow..... Love to all.
