Berlin, Germany

What an interesting day in Berlin seeing things and places I've heard about, read about or seen on TV.

We docked in Warnemunde Germany this morning.

We started off on a three hour bus ride but we were in a really nice bus,

Once in Berlin we picked up a tour guide and she told us about many of the buildings in Berlin. One of our first stops was some of the remains of the Berlin Wall.

The wall is in pretty rough shape due to people wanting to take a piece of the wall.

Where the wall once stood in Berlin the street now has a double line of bricks.

Our next stop was the Brandenburg Gate. We're getting pretty good at selfies!

We drove by the Victory Column. A beautiful monument.

The actual building is a replica of the guard shack and I'm not sure about the signs, but you still get the idea.

I believe my sister and brother-in-law, Tracy and Larry, actually went through Checkpoint Charlie while stationed in Germany.

There's a piece of the wall near Checkpoint Charlie.

There are a lot of pictures up on walls from those days.

One additional picture of the sign at Checkpoint Charlie.... bet the KFC wasn't there then. Hahaha

We had some free time so we went to a nice German eating establishment and had a wonderful meal.

Beer and a pretzel.... yummy.

Our wonderful dinners.

Wonderful apple strudel for dessert..... and look... all gone!

It was a nice day, very historic, and we enjoyed our time in Germany. Another new country for us. There will be several over the next week.

We rode home on our bus and got back to the ship about 9:30 pm. When we got back on the ship there was a local Oom Pah Band playing in the central area and they were wonderful. We listened for a bit and then off to our room for some rest.

This is for my sister, Tracy. Jim and I were walking past a book sale and look what he found.

Thought you'd like it.

Tomorrow is a day at sea.
