55 minutes of our lives we can never get back...at sea!

Well we are now over the half way point on our way to Lisbon, Portugal. However, we are making an emergency stop in the Azores to drop off the lady who is bleeding internally after a fall. The Captain got on the speaker this morning and explained the plan to us. It will not put us behind from getting to Portugal but she is in a fragile state and can't be air lifted out. Continue to pray for her and her travel companion as they disembark tomorrow afternoon.

The Captain also updated us on the progress of the storm that caused us to miss Bermuda.

You can see three tracks on the map. The top two tracks are the scheduled track we were to take, right in the middle of the storm with 25 ft waves. The bottom track is what we took... it kept us south and east of the storm. So thankful.

Our day was great however. We went out on the deck and watched the dancing down by the pool, even the bartenders got involved.

The sea and the sky were beautiful today.

We sat on deck and enjoyed some quiet time, and I had a Mudslide for my sweet sister Tracy.

Dinner tonight was at Murano, the ship's French-themed restaurant. I took pictures of dinner this time, too.
Appetizers - on the left is the scallop in puff pastry and on the right was pear and roquefort in filo (phyllo) dough. Both very yummy.

Dinner was chateaubriand for two with yummy vegetables.

Strawberry crepe

Grand Marnier Souffle

We shared the crepe, although Jim wasn't really happy about sharing, and we each had the souffle.
Wonderful dinner.

Now onto the 55 minutes of our lives we can never get back. This is the first show that we haven't liked...maybe if someone could explain it to me that would help.

The music was familiar but in our opinion it was bad and off key in some spots. But even more confusing was the story line, if you could call it a story line.  Oh well.

And here is our position tonight. We're very close to the Azores and should get there sometime tomorrow afternoon.

I took this close up of the position to show you the little white dots by the "n". A couple to the right and one just on the left. Those are the Azores, I'm not sure which island we're stopping at but we're getting close.

Overall it was a great day. We're closer to Portugal than we are to the US and I'm looking forward to seeing some land again.

Until tomorrow.
