We've just been advised that due to a life-threatening illness by one of the passengers (not either of us!) we're going to divert to the Azores so the person can be evacuated to a hospital. We should be to the Azores tomorrow afternoon between 4 & 5pm. This will NOT have any impact on our arrival to Lisbon, Portugal on April 26th at 2:00pm.
First of all, please lift this person up in your prayers. Whatever the illness or injury, I cannot imagine being this far from a hospital when in need. It really goes to show how big our world really is.
On the positive side, we'll be able to see the Azores, at least from the ship, while the evacuation takes place.
